Kumarı Bırak (“Quit Gambling”) offers practical education, guides, and digital tools for people affected by problem gambling. We aim to reduce isolation on the path to recovery and to make support feel actionable—without replacing qualified healthcare.
Why this project exists
Problem gambling often comes with shame, secrecy, short bursts of motivation, and slipping back into old patterns. Even when good information exists, it is not always easy to find something steady alongside you day to day. Kumarı Bırak is built to combine clear guidance with tools you can actually use—especially through the mobile app and community-minded features.
Empathy first
People who have not lived through addiction can underestimate how heavy it feels. Our tone tries to normalize the struggle without glamorizing harm—and to remind you that difficulty here is common, not proof that you are “broken.”
Low on judgment
Questions like “How could you let it get this far?” rarely help. We prioritize respectful language, safer community norms, and boundaries that protect dignity—especially when someone is already being harsh with themselves.
The future we want to support
A world where, on a rough night, the normal next step is to breathe, reach for a trusted tool or helpline, and buy yourself time—not to chase a “quick fix” bet. Where people can say honestly that they cannot rewrite yesterday but can still shape tomorrow. Where debt stress stops feeling like a reason to gamble, and where plain-language options are easy to find when shame is loud.
